About Me

I'm a senior software engineer and architect with 20+ years of experience across startups, product companies, and government-scale services. I specialise in turning vague ideas into concrete, reliable systems while balancing technical depth, delivery, and clear communication.

These days I delegate implementation to agents working from specs, which moves the engineering upstream into problem framing, system design, and the review that decides what actually ships. Same accountability, different daily work, considerably more of it delivered.

My work spans tech leadership, frontend transformation, architectural design, and hands-on consulting. I help teams structure work more effectively, estimate realistically, adopt sound engineering practices, and deliver with clarity rather than chaos.

Developed Java and PHP modules for loyalty and reward-system applications while learning enterprise Java at speed.

Built multi-module Java applications using Hibernate and Struts.
Developed features across three projects simultaneously.

Java Technical Leader & Senior Developer

CitiBank, DIRECTV, Swiss Medical Group (via ITResources) · Argentina

Led and delivered projects across finance, telecom, and healthcare, working on IVR systems, enterprise apps, legacy-system integrations, and continuous-integration initiatives.

Designed and developed components for CitiBank’s IVR ecosystem, plus custom tag libraries and security-hardened UI components.
Delivered DIRECTV’s DSNVS logistics/validation system and led regional assessments of core applications.

Migrated major components of the ATLAS system from C++ to Java and became responsible for its maintenance.

Engineer in the APICore team of Latin America’s largest e-commerce platform, working on high-throughput distributed APIs supporting millions of users.

Improved caching for the Items API, reducing web-server startup times by over 50%.
Refactored core APIs (Users, Feedback) to increase maintainability and consistency.
Executed zero-downtime Redis migrations and contributed to reliability across multiple services.

Formerly known as BenchVote. Served as principal architect and main engineer behind a sports engagement platform that later expanded into a broader product for marketers.

Designed the entire platform architecture and selected core technologies.
Implemented nearly all product features end-to-end.

Led the frontend for several major NSW government services and guided a large .NET-focused team into a modern React + API architecture.

Co-founded a procurement platform for Australian strata schemes. I own the technical side end to end, from architecture and infrastructure through backend, data, and frontend.

Full stack: Next.js/MUI frontend, Express-on-Lambda API, MySQL schema and migrations, and AWS infrastructure as code (SAM, CloudFront, S3, SQS, SES, SNS).
LLMs in production via Bedrock and Claude for document intelligence, quote analysis, and request drafting, with every call logged and classifier rules versioned as config.
Event-driven backend of SQS-backed Lambda workers for document parsing, quote scoring, enrichment, and inbound email, with retries, timeouts, and garbage collection.
Google Places matching, website contact discovery, and headless-Chromium scraping inside Lambda.
Multi-environment GitLab CI/CD, esbuild per-Lambda bundles, automated database backups with alerting, and Playwright plus Vitest coverage.

Turns photo sequences into timelapses, animated collages, and branded videos in the browser. Behind it: a serverless render pipeline that shards each job across SQS queues and FFmpeg Lambda workers, self-heals through dead-letter workers and a stalled-job reaper, and scales out under per-worker concurrency caps that keep a traffic spike from becoming a surprise bill. A separate internal console sits on top for observing pipeline health in real time, with mechanisms provisioned to administer the operational side of the system.

A full-stack hardware project: concept, CAD and mechanical design, electronics, Klipper kinematics work in Python and C for two additional axes, a bespoke toolpath/G-code pipeline, and calibration to repeatability, then filmed, edited, and published as the Engineer Unleashed build series on YouTube. The point is the whole chain: an idea that survives contact with real motors, real firmware, and a real audience.

KwadHubDrone Flying Spots Community

A social map where drone pilots discover and share flying spots, with hazards, terrain, photos, and privacy controls. Underneath: spots geohashed on write and read back by prefix against DynamoDB GSIs at zoom-dependent precision, server-side aggregation into summary nodes so a continent-wide view stays cheap, presigned S3 uploads feeding a Sharp derivative pipeline, and a superadmin moderation queue gating what goes public.

BeltGenerator.comWeekend Build, Real Tool

A weekend project to test one idea: print a belt longer than your printer bed by folding it into a serpentine path. A pure geometry engine solves the shape and exports a dimensionally accurate SVG, ready to extrude in CAD. The interesting part is how it got built. Claude and Codex run as two agents, alternating as planner, implementer and reviewer, each checking the other before anything landed. Concept to live site in a weekend; on larger projects that loop becomes a formal turn-based protocol.

A cross-platform training app for real gym use: sets, reps, weights, timers, exercise history, supersets, and progress views. React Native 0.81 + Expo 54 with file-based routing and an offline-first AsyncStorage layer, no backend to depend on. The release path is the other half of the work: EAS Build producing signed iOS and Android artifacts, EAS Submit handling store delivery, and auto-incrementing remote versions. Certified and through Apple's review process on the App Store; currently in beta, with the Play Console release still ahead.
